Your blog posts are optimized, your pages are visible in the search engines, and you have a blogging strategy for SEO.

But when visitors land on a blog post, you want them to do more than read it and leave; you want them to visit additional posts.

Engaging readers with the additional content on your website gives you further chances to showcase your authority, encouraging repeat visits.

Otherwise, a reader could land on a post via Twitter and enjoy it, but then leave without really remembering your blog.

So, what can you do to encourage them to read more?

1. Link to Related Posts

If your visitor has found a blog post entertaining and useful, then they may well want to read more of your articles on similar subjects.

So, add links to related articles beneath the post.

2. Write a Series

Don’t overuse this tactic, but it can be a great way to increase page views, encourage repeat visits, and explore complex subjects in greater depth.

Once you have a completed series on our blog, readers landing on one article will be more likely to read the additional content. That added value will keep on giving as people find the posts through search engines and inbound links in the future.

3. Showcase Older Posts

Take a leaf out of “The Simpsons” book and don’t be afraid of compilation posts. These can be a great way to showcase your older, most successful or popular articles, driving additional visitors to them.

For example, you might list the blog posts that received the most comments or were the most popular over the previous year.

4. Add Descriptive Introductions to Your Articles

When a reader lands on your blog’s home page, make sure they can see at a glance how useful the different articles are. This may pique their interest so they read more than one post.

If your article introductions are captivating then use those. Otherwise, write appealing summaries of the posts so the potential reader can see exactly how useful they will be.

5. Link to Other Posts Within Articles

One of the frustrations of the blogging platform is that articles are necessarily fairly short – rarely more than 800 words.

That can make it hard to explore complex subjects in any great depth. However, if you have existing posts that are relevant to the subject you’re writing about, then link to them.

In addition to giving the reader the chance to learn more, it encourages them to click through to different articles.

6. Build a Page That Shows Additional Articles

Make sure your blog contains a sidebar that highlights other blog posts. These could be related content, different article categories, or even the most recent articles on your blog.

Pakistan – Energy Crisis

PROBLEM:

Energy is the most important sources for economic growth of a country. Unfortunately Pakistan has to face a major energy crisis in Natural gas, Power and Oil in next two to three years. This would delay the Economy of Pakistan (which is already in complexity). The high cost of the import of Oil, Construction of Big Dams, uncertain regional security environment attached with lack of national agreement to build dams are likely to delay quick resolution of energy crises. This energy deficit will lead to inflation. Similarly subsidies of billions of rupees have to be doped out “Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA)” to bear loses. This would affect the national exchequer heavily.

An Energy Crisis is threatening large in upcoming years. There is an expected short fall up to 50% because of increase in demand and supply gas up to 3,000 MW. Pakistan’s total energy requirement would increase by 48% to 80 million tons of oil equivalent in 2011.

Pakistan energy sector comprises of major sources with share of 50.4% of gas, followed by oil 29%, hydro electricity 11%, and coal 7.6%. Consequently, Pakistan imports energy to overcome the problem and maintain standard of living of people. The major shortfall is expected in natural gas supplies. Pakistan had 28 trillion cubic feet reserves of natural gas in 2006 but due to increase in its demand it is expected to be exhausted in next two decades.

Pakistan has a huge demand to generate power through oil but we can meet only 20% of our requirement through original production and rest of oil is imported from Gulf States and other countries of world. No major oil field so far has been discovered in last three decades. Oil demand is expected to double by 2015 and quadruple by 2025. This would lead to a amazing trade shortage, and growing of general prices.

Pakistan has a total hydro potential of 40,000 MW against which it generates only 6500 MW. If the dams are not built there would be short fall of 40 million acre feet of water by the year 2006 and 108 million acre feet by 2013. Consequently power shortage will be up to 11,750 MV per year. It will affect agricultural, industry, and particularly the storage capacity of Mangla, Terbela and Chashma Dams will be reduced due to mud deposits.

Pakistan has world’s seven largest reserves of coal after discovery of THAR. These reserves are still untouched due to lack of technique in coal mining. Similarly solar and wind energy in coastal areas of Baluchistan and Sindh have a lot of potential to generate electricity but acquisition of technology at an enormous cost makes this a unbelievable source. Pakistan has only two nuclear plants providing two percent of electricity to our country. Population explosion is another cause of energy crises.

The government should make strategies to overcome the energy crises. The government plans to generate 7880 MW electricity by 2011 out of it 4860 MW is to be generated by firing natural gas. It should maximize the utilization of hydroelectric resources through building of dams such as KALABAGH DAM, BHASHA DAM etc. to produce cheap electricity. It should improve relations with international and Regional Corporation. It should activate in THAR coal project with the assistance of china to address energy crises. It should obtain new policies to overcome the problem through renewable energy resources: i.e. Solar, Wind and Tidal energy.

It should take positive steps to finalize international gas pipe line projects i.e. IPI (India, Pakistan, Iran) Gas pipe line project which meet the needs of gas demands of Pakistan and possibly India.

It should make effort to fulfill the project with TURKEMANISTAN and AFGHANISTAN gas pipe line which was floated by TURKEMANISTAN in 1991 to meet the demands of gas for Pakistan. Similarly a Sharjah based company initiated and sponsored a gas import project through an offshore pipe line from QATAR TO PAKISTAN IN 1990 but it is still under consideration.

CONCLUSION:

At present Pakistan is pursuing a multidimensional pro-longed strategy to ensure adequate and uninterrupted oil and gas supply and other energy resources to sustain the present pattern of energy for the rapid national economic growth. Greater reliance on gas, aggressive pursuit of hydroelectric power generation, and enhancing nuclear power generation capacity are some of the key elements of this strategy.

Pakistan is also seeking to expand its primary energy supply base by encouraging oil exploration and power generation companies to undertake energy project in Pakistan. The regional gas pipe line projects in which Pakistan is actively pursuing to meet its expanding domestic energy demands.

These are the prerequisite for resolving energy crises that, unless resolved promptly, would cast a long shadow on the short and medium term objectives of economic growth and development.

How to Increase the Adsense CTR of a WordPress Blog

Click through rate and Cost per click is directly proportional to adsense earnings. While topics/niche decides the CPC, CTR of your blog is entirely in your hands. It is all about how you make your visitors to click your ads – which is obviously difficult. Adsense CTR varies from 1% to 5% in most cases. However, never allow your CTR go above 10% which will obviously make Google team to notice your account and take special care (Google is famous in banning accounts for ‘almost’ no reasons).

In this post, I’ll share few tips which you can implement on your wordpress blog.

1. Use Quick Adsense pluginto insert ads in your blog. Unlike other plugins, Quick Adsense allows us to insert ads in the middle of the content – which will obviously result in high click rate.
2. Placing ads in the sidebar is not a good idea to implement. Consuming that Google allows only 3 ad units and 3 link units and 2 search units per page, placing ads in the sidebar will not be wise.
3. Large rectangle ads are good to be placed above the content. Fix it there.
4. Text only ads of ’728×90′ will help you show text-cum-link ads horizontally which looks way too natural. In my opinion, they are good to be placed in the middle of the post.
5. It is said that most people ignore image ads.. what about the rest? they ignore text ads! So it’ll be good to place a ’728×90′ image only ad below the content.
6. Try Section Targeting.

Change, change and change. Testing your ideas and implementing new styles will definitely help you in finding the most perfect ad placement for your blog. The above tips are entirely based upon my blog niche, theme and audience. It’s time for you to play with your adsense.. go play, win!

Importance of Keyword Density for SEO

Keywords are considered as major aspects for getting traffic from the Search Engine Optimization and I consider selection of Keywords plays major role in success of the blog. While choosing the Keywords, few elements like Keyword Density, Keyword Placements etc does a great job and only thing you need to do is while search engine comes to crawl your blog/website, you need to convince the Search Engine and make sure that you place these keywords with correct order. So, that the search engine easily recognizes it and indexes the article for your focused keyword. Article without certain destination is useless. You need to write articles either for your visitors or for search engines.

Keyword density is one of the important elements that indicate the number of times you have used the selected keyword in your article. But take care that you shouldn’t over use these keywords which may lead to penalization of the website/blog, instead these keywords should be placed enough in number and must take care that they appear at important places like Title, First Paragraph, Last Paragraph, and also must take care you define the any series of keywords close to each other.

If you tend to repeat the focused keyword as every other word on every line, which will be considered as malpractice and your website/blog will be rejected as an genuine site and will be fixed as artificial site or spam site and kicks back your article in SERP. Keyword density is a major SEO factor that is expressed as a percentage of the total number of words to the keywords you have used on a given web page.
